Submit your film to MSFF

and join the next generation of student film and cinema.

Our final programming committee oversees the submission, programming, and curation process for all films that are submitted to our Festival. We accept films in two ways – through our bulk submission program with participating academic institutions, and from independent student filmmakers through FilmFreeway. We don’t have a preference, and treat both submissions equally.

Over the last five years, interest in our Festival has grown exponentially, as has the number of submissions our organization receives. We are humbled by this, and don’t take this lightly – we watch every film through, and debate on the merit of each film and filmmaker that submits to our show.

Submissions for our Class of 2022 are now open. Films will screen under the Student Film Awards branding, after we sunset the Maine Student Film Festival in 2022. We’re taking submissions under MSFF branding because it’s easier.

Winner of MSFF 2020 Best Actor Award, Will Jacobs. Emmanuel Li, Director.
